About Jon:
Jon Scheffres, MA, LPC has nearly 20 years experience as a psychotherapist and a yogi and has worked with individuals, couples and groups throughout the country. He received his BA in English and American Literature from Brandeis University and went on to complete a Masters program in Counseling Psychology at Lesley College in Cambridge, MA in 1989. Jon began his study of yoga and meditation in 1985. It was also during this time that he was introduced to Eastern spiritual philosophy and Jewish mysticism.
An accomplished therapist, story-teller, public speaker, facilitator, and teacher, Jon has facilitated men's groups since 1987, created and taught relationship skills classes for singles and couples, and has also worked with troubled and incarcerated youth. In addition he has worked in the fields of domestic violence and substance abuse, working with adults, adolescents, and children around these issues. He is a practitioner and teacher of Kundalini Yoga, a 5000 year old mind-body practice that quickly and efficiently alters consciousness, opens the senses, and makes way for new insights.
Jon collaborates with clients to create "break-through" experiences of healing and growth using a combination of yogic, meditation and process techniques. His approach to healing and growth is transpersonal, deeply imaginative, and tailored to the needs of the individuals with whom he works.
